Local trailers mismatch

Had a few thousand movie local trailers next to media files in standard <filename>-trailer.ext naming convention, (i.e. Dune. 2021.1080p.HEVC.AC3-trailer.mp4) - rest of the trailers were already in \trailers subfolder. Guess I was sufficiently annoyed to finally rename those to <clean_foldername>-trailer.ext (Dune (2021)-trailer.mp4) and move all of them to their respective \trailers subfolder.

However, Emby seems to get stuck in limbo after that:

- All proper (renamed+moved) trailers play on Trailer button, no issues there

- But, on Search, number of trailers also pop-up in the results - sometimes as Top Result - having previous/old names, <filename>-trailer.ext, although those don't exist anymore;

- There's no rule which trailer will show in the results and which won't, example: searching for Sniper (that has 12 movies with Sniper in the title and all of them have local trailers) returns Sniper2 and Sniper3 local trailers, no any other trailer, correct or incorrect

- Entering any of those incorrect/non-existent trailers detail view, displays old/previous/not-existing-any-more location/path

- However, its (trailer's) More Like This section lists number of other <filename>-ext.trailers (also non-existent any more) and entering any of those trailers detail view exhibits same behavior

- Random Search for few titles of those More Like This trailers results in no determinable pattern, some are being returned on search while some are not (again, all of those are not existing in the filesystem anymore)

- At no point have I seen actual trailer (<clean_foldername>-trailer.ext in \trailers subfolder) returned on Search

To summarize, not sure how to get rid of those non-existent trailers (yes, Scan media library task has run 100+ times since).

Thanks

Edit: Search for "trailer" returns 756 (yes, I've counted all 95 rows of results in Trailers tab) of those non-existent <filename>-trailer.ext items: some have movie poster (majority), some have broken link placeholder (30ish %) and some have no image, just a media icon placeholder (minority). Some are also duplicated, having two entries (10ish %).

None of those trailers exists anymore in the filesystem, all 756 of them are erroneous db records. And those are not all of the loose/ghost trailers in the system, as said before, not all trailers from trailers' More Like This show up in search for "trailer".

Solved by running several db queries. Was a bit tedious as number of tables were affected. Anyway, sorted. Though it shouldn't have happened in the first place, those entries shouldn't have been retained as items are not existing/have been removed. Cheers, @Happy2Play, thanks for the assistance.

Do we know why this happened at all?

I have a similar structure of trailers along the media files which I was planning to move to the dedicated trailers subfolder but I am hesitant to do it now seeing this issue.

Any news or further update on why this could have happened?

This is a complicated one. If you're having an issue, can you please show a specific example? Thanks.

This was more of a precautionary question.

I am planning to make a similar move to a dedicated trailer subfolder and wanted to get ahead of any known issues before that. Will keep the logs from when I make the move in case I hit the same issue.
