Playlist/Watch/episode Order (multiple Tv series)

I was wondering if this is possible. I don't know a ton about playlist because I've never had a use for them until now. 

I have recently started watching NCIS franchise from the beginning and would like to watch all episodes in the order that they were released. 

From Jag - Present day.

I was wondering if I added all the Tv series into one massive playlist could I set that playlist to released order and it would play every episodes in that order (release date) regardless of which series it came from? IE: NCIS/Sydney/Origins/Tony & Ziva/Hawaii/LA/New Orleans

ok, so all I would have to do is create playlist and add each series to it and set list to release order?

Is there a way to continue playing a playlist from where the playlist left off?

While condensing multiple series into one playlist and sorting by release order is a reasonable way to organize the total episodes of a franchise, from what I've seen the playlist does not have a way of remembering where a user left off. 

 

For relatively small playlists this isn't an issue but when you have multiple shows from a large franchise (such as walking dead with all its spinoffs) this can be pretty annoying. You can certainly manually scroll down to episodes that you haven't watched (no checkmark) but its a little cumbersome.
