Mahtan 3 Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 Hello, I am experiencing a synchronization issue with my downloaded videos when trying to update the playback status back to the server from my tablet. The media files download successfully onto the tablet for offline viewing. However, once I reconnect to the internet (via Wi-Fi/4G), the resume point (where I stopped watching) and/ or the 'watched/unwatched' status is not being synced or updated on my Emby server. This means that when I attempt to resume the video on another client (such as a PC or TV), the video does not start at the correct position. Has anyone else encountered this issue, or is there a known solution or workaround? Thank you

How is this background synchronization triggered? Can it be forced? The “problem” seems to lie in the management of downloads for files downloaded from a device. Because when I go to downloads => my series => I can see the episodes with the check mark. If I go to the same device but this time on the server because I am now connected, in the same series at that location I do not see the episodes with the check mark. The issue seems to be between the synchronization of the downloaded file and the file on the server. Edited October 27, 2025 by Mahtan

I left my tablet connected to Wi-Fi for several days, and I also restarted Emby several times by completely shutting it down on my tablet. But nothing worked. After all these attempts, I had one episode out of six that was marked as viewed on the server.
