DrNoD 5 Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Hi, i am using Emby Server Version 4.9.1.80 and Android Emby App Version 3.5.12. All worked while using Android 15 on my Samsung S 24. It was using the Samsung DEX Desktop extention, where i can use usb to hdmi adapter to use external display. Now Samsung released the new One UI Version with Android 16. In this Android Version the external desktop extension is already inside Android. Starting the app and navigation works normal. Starting a movie also works. Video runs in fullscreen. But there are no controls to pause when the mouse pointer is moved. And also hitting space bar to stop is not working anymore. When going back (using the arrow in task bar) it switches to a black screen. There are the controls and they are working. I still can hear the sound of the movie stopping and starting. It seems like there are 2 different layers and they are in the wrong order or something. Also when the emby app is in window mode (not full screen) the movie is playing and the black bars on top and bottom are translucent and you can see the desktop/task bar. I hope this helps.
Luke 42077 Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 @DrNoDcan you please show screenshot examples of what you see? Thanks !
DrNoD 5 Posted October 28, 2025 Author Posted October 28, 2025 Adding 2 Videos. On first you can see what happens when app is not in fullscreen. I can see mouse and no pause etc show when mouse is moved. Clicking video does not stop the video. On the other vid is what happens when i hit ESC to exit fullscreen playback. Video not visible but i can hears sound. 20251028_020105.mp4 20251028_020150.mp4
DrNoD 5 Posted October 28, 2025 Author Posted October 28, 2025 Addition: all this is in the extended screen mode. I tested starting emby on the phone screen instead of the external display. Then the video appears on the external screen when i press play on the phone. So i can control the movie from the phone. (Workaround to use emby till this is fixed)

Luke 42077 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 OK can you please provide a log from the android app: Thanks !
DrNoD 5 Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 Here is a file. opened the app on the display connected with dex. when playing a video in fullscreen the app closed. when playing video in not maxized window, video starts. No controls like usual. So tried to view a video 2 times for testing. then closed the app. This is the log. btw: i tried using emby in browser. in chrome it works. when trying in samsung browser, there is no mouse visible when the video start (but only at the space where the video playback is). So it is not possble to click the pause and so on. emby_android_1769142043386.txt
