LiveTV Stutter and Buffer without any changes made

I have searched the forums and the internet at-large but cannot find an explanation for this so I am hoping for some specific direction. Is there a setting I need to adjust? Is it a flaw in Emby?

I am using LiveTV M3U IPTV with a very reliable provider and I can play virtually flawlessly with other players on OnnTV device. However, when I attempt to play SOME CHANNELS from Emby Android App or Android TV app or from the server browser interface the video will begin to stream for about 5 seconds and then buffers, starts again, and then buffers again after about 5 seconds, and so on. It happens only on some channels.

If I initiate a recording but do not playback at the same time, the recording appears to commence for a short period but then drops. When I view the recorded video it appears steady and fine, however it is only a minute or 2 long.

My setup has been in place for a couple of months and working very well and I cannot see or think of anything that has changed. This seemed to start yesterday evening (Oct 23, 2025) at around 10pm EDT.

I have tested from players (OnnTV Android App, Windows Edge Browser, Amazon FireTV 4K Max) and tested and confirmed network thoroughly but it keeps pointing back to Emby Server.

Summary of Setup
Emby Server (Ver: 4.9.1.80) on Windows 11 Mini-PC with N150 processor, 12GB Ram, 500GB Storage (>300GB available) connected to Router with Ethernet
Emby App on OnnTV 4K TV connected via Wifi 5GHZ

Tests and Adjustments I have tried
1. Changed networks
2. Connected Emby Server via Ethernet directly to Modem
3. Tested with and without VPN
4. Changed VPN provider
5. Network speeds and latency all test well
6. I have turned off Demux and Transcoding (streams won't play in that state)

I had server version 4.8.11 and did not have any issues. I upgraded to 4.9.1.80 and things seemed to be fine for days but now all this.

I have attached log files in case they contain any clues.

Is there a setting that I am missing?

Help Please!!!

Hello iON22,

It's recommended to provide more info, as it explain in this thread:

Thank you.

The issue seems to have "disappeared", therefore it is difficult to provide detailed steps to replicate at this time. However, I am confident it was an issue with the Emby Server based on my efforts to rule out all the other usual suspects.

So, rather than waste Emby Team resources, I will defer this matter until it reoccurs.

Thanks anyway.
