Synchronized watching?

Is there an option / plug-in / etc. that enables two people to watch the same show together at different locations? The wife and granddaughter were watching a show together and the challenges of getting them synced up were painful!

Note that some of those are quite dated and it is unlikely they are still maintained. 

There are also likely additional tools, these were just a few that came up on quick search.
