Android app now highlights section titles

Am I wrong in thinking this is a new behaviour, that on android TV (with the regular emby app), emby highlights the section headings instead of going straight from one section on the home screen to the next? It's quite annoying because it adds several extra clicks when navigating the home screen. Them being selectable makes sense on a device controlled by touch or mouse, but not on something with a remote.

It doesn't do it for "my media" or "collections", only the sections that are "latest X"

App version 3.5.12, android TV 9, Xiaomi mi box 4

Looks like the same thing reported elsewhere.  Luke mentions it being a bug some are seeing by accident.
