adamstoebner 0 Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 I currently have two separate HTPCs (Win7/WMC/Media Browser Classic). The HTPCs are in separate areas of my home. HTPC1 is connected directly to the TV via HDMI, so I want simple stereo audio here. HTPC2 is connected to Denon AVR > TV - and has 7.1 surround capability. Both HTPCs access media stored on a NAS (MKV container generally). I feel like I am missing something super obvious. Is there a way to have these two HTPCs use separate audio streams (HTPC1 use 2.0 audio, HTPC2 use 5.1 or 7.1 audio) - either with one instance of Media Browser Server (shared between 2 HTPCs) or separate Media Browser Servers running on each machine? Or is there a way to switch audio streams on the fly via Harmony remote? Thanks!
ebr 16169 Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 You don't need to switch audio streams. Just setup the windows audio settings properly and it will downmix the multi-channel stream to stereo on that setup.
