Folders

I have numerous video categories so I specify the directory where each is located.  d:\movies   e:\tv etc

However I would like to point to a directory of folders.  Then when selected instead of seeing the videos, you would see folders.

Select one of the folders and the videos in the selected folder would be displayed.

Can I do this with emby ?

Picture would explain better but sounds like the change to Folder view in 4.9 as all single items will present their folder then the media.  You can eliminate the additional click by in a per user setting App settings-Display

Hi, yes you can setup a movie library with multiple folders, or a TV library with multiple folders.

I just set up the libraries w/ defaults. Just selected the library and edit option, but don.t see any auto open single items in folder view

Not a library option it is a per User option.

Explanation.

     d:\movies   - all movies

    e:\ tv  - all tv shows

    F: goups \clint eastwood     eastwoods movies

                    \burt reynolds   reynlods movies

                    \john wayne   waynes movies 

So when I select movies or tv gate all in that category

when I select groups  I want a list of folders    select the desired folder and shows that folders movies

 

Another question jst poped up, I lost the  icon list of actors in a move

You open the movie icon scroll down and there is normally a list w/pics of each actor in the move. Have them on PC but not on Roku
