KayDox64 1 Posted October 17, 2025 Posted October 17, 2025 I have an ultra wide monitor, when I watch movies on my PC I have it crop the top and bottom because the movie usually tends to have black bars anyway, so it fits. but this also crops the PSG subtitles. is there a way I can crop the video image but have the subtitles still render at the same 16:9 aspect ratio it was meant to display at? Or a simple way to convert the PSG format into a text based format like SRT or ASS within emby itself? if not I'll most likely just crop the movie with hand break, but I wanted to see if I could find an emby solution so I don't have to do that with every movie.

Luke 42077 Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 OK this is something we'll have to pay attention to in our new linux app: Thanks.

There's a longstanding ready-developed feature for converting graphics subs to tect subs on the fly (server-side). No idea what's going to happen with that.
