GOTCHA_SA 8 Posted October 17, 2025 Posted October 17, 2025 Good Morning Since updating to DSM 7.3 I am having the issue of Emby stopping due to the system being out of memory. this has happened 3 times since the 09/10. Never had any issues before updating the NAS Since the latest crash I have removed the STATISTICS and PLAYBACK REPORTING plugins as suggested in other posts to see if anything changes. I have a DS1621+ with 16GB RAM embyserver-63896256000- Memory Crash Log.txt
Luke 42077 Posted October 17, 2025 Posted October 17, 2025 HI, please keep us posted on if that helps, thanks.
GOTCHA_SA 8 Posted October 21, 2025 Author Posted October 21, 2025 (edited) Hi @Luke Just had the server crash again with the same System out of memory error: embyserver-63896682700.txt I checked the server Logs Can see it ramped up since 12:00 today I also have just seen a log rule I configured for the 17/10 ( for some reason it disabled) stating the memory usage had increased to a maximum level from the Emby App, I have re-enabled the log rule. Something is causing the Emby to ramp up in Memory usage and I am not sure what, hope you can assist with this many thanks in advance Edited October 21, 2025 by GOTCHA_SA
GOTCHA_SA 8 Posted October 24, 2025 Author Posted October 24, 2025 It seems to be happening for me in 5 or 6 day cycles, so due another crash either Sunday or Monday not sure if it is even relevant but just before all this started other than upgrading to DSM 7.3, I did add a Mixed Content Library. I have removed this and also increased the Database cache. Memory usage seems to have stabilised and does seem to drop after a big increase. Not sure if I am clutching at straws here will see in the next few days though
GOTCHA_SA 8 Posted November 4, 2025 Author Posted November 4, 2025 just to update I have not had a single crash since making the last changes on the 24/10 1
