kingy444 117 Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 With the upgrade (4.9.1.80) auto grouping of movies across folders is working (this is great and thankyou) I have movies of 4K in one directory and movies of 1080 and lower in another so that 4K is not exposed to all users, they now all appear as a single movie and to end users this is seemless What i've noticed is that while they are grouped into a single movie, one directory is designated "master" and metadata changes (only posters tested) only get updated in the original directory (1080p) in the testing, and the 4K folder remained with the old poster image Unsure if a bug, or a feature request, but it would make sense to me that if grouped, the metadata stays in sync (or at least an option for it to do so)
Luke 42077 Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 hi, right now this is the way multi-version works. They are still separate items in the system and can be edited independently. This may change in the future, but that's how it currently is.
kingy444 117 Posted October 15, 2025 Author Posted October 15, 2025 (edited) If treated as seperate items then perhaps it is a bug. The updated poster still remains as the primary regardless of which 'version' is selected. So when i swap to the 4K version, I dont get the poster from the 4K versions folder - all other metadata updates though (subtitles, chapters etc) Edited October 15, 2025 by kingy444
Luke 42077 Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 It's not a bug, it's just slightly awkward behavior of multi-version items. The one that you will see when browsing around is usually arbitrary, although in folder view, you'll see the one specific to that folder. To get the poster to match you need to update both.
