Live TV After pausing can not fast forward or rewind

I am still using the old Android TV app to watch and record live TV, The reason is because on the new app when I pause I cannot fast-forward or rewind like the older Android TV app. Also when recording you cannot fast forward or rewind until the recording is complete. Is this feature coming to the newer android app? Is there something I am missing in setting? I really would love to just use one Emby app on my TV but without feature parity it's difficult. Thanks for your hard work, sorry if I am missing something.

hi, in the app, try disabling the direct stream live tv option and that will make it equivalent to the old app.

Thanks for the response I did change the setting. Still after pausing or recording the show cannot use skip forward skip back and just resume playing.

@yaggermrwhat was the name of the setting that you changed? What did you set it to?

Prefer direct streaming of live tv toggled off in app per your instructions.

And what makes you think you can't fast forward or rewind on this version?

 If you pause a recording you can't jump back or forward. You can only resume playing from the point you paused the show. I don't think it doesn't work I know it doesn't work. It doesn't work on the other four google tv steam boxes I have either on the new app never has it's broken. Do you have any of these devices? Did you try it?

Jumping in here...may be a different thing. I'm using fire sticks.  In the Emby FireTV app when there is an in-progress recording, for me at least you can start the recording and move forward. However the Emby Android version does not allow you to fast forward if the recording is in progress. Once the recording is complete, its fine.  I have 8 firesticks and it works this way on all. I can do the same via web and FF successfully.

Hi, the app has a setting to prefer direct streaming live tv. You can disable this to achieve the same effect as what you were used to. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

I tried that before but validated again on multiple firesticks. Does not FF for me. I can FF on any other apps (windows, ROKU, web) but not Firestick /w the Android version. Below is example of playing from the beginning (first image) vs play from live position.

Also jumping in here. When I am live recording, I am unable to seek forward or backwards on a show that has already started. I want to watch from the start of the recording and continue until it completes, but skip commercials an I am unable to.

Is this intended or am I missing a setting?

I am on Emby For Android 3.5.28.
