Since update 4.9.1.80, my Emby server is all messed up....

1. The display of cast went from Cast/Writer/Director to Writer/Director/Cast.  Now at the front of very movie, I can possibly have two of the same person Writer/Director and most with no images.  Looks horrible.  Is there a way to make this an option or revert back to having the Cast/Writer/Director display order.

2. My movies are categorized into folders, and after this update and the first scan of any folder, it placed each movie in an individual folder (with a folder icon in the upper left corner), which now requires two clicks to get to the movie.  Not very convenient and seems clunky.  I followed the Emby file structure and naming convention when I created this server 5 years ago and spent those years digitizing my movie collection and organizing it.  Now it no longer looks or functions right.

My setup example....

Category Folder1: Spotlight / Movie Folder / Movie File

Category Folder 2: Movies 1900-1949

Subcategory Folder:  A / Movie Folder / Movie File

Subcategory Folder:  B / Movie Folder / Movie File

  ----- and so on....

It has been working great for 5 years, up to this upgrade.  Do I need to downgrade to the previous server version or will there be a fix.

3. I noticed the Emby server loading the home screen, and images, is significantly slower than it used to be. I have fiber for internet, it's definitely not my system/setup, as none of my other systems are affected.

At this point I am at a loss?

Who writes your nfo files?  As of 4.9 they are read per the order they appear in the nfo.  But a wild guess would be TMM.

Hi First, thank you for your reply.  Yes, my NFO files were created by TMM.  It's the best program I have found to manage the data for my video library.  Even if TMM changed the program to change to order, it won't fix all the NFO files already on my server, over 5k of them.  I can't go back and redo the entire library again.  That's insane, who has the time.

It is an overall change to folder view but you can eliminate the click by changing the per user display setting.

There are several topics on this as some just don't like it at all.

Thank you for this info, I made the change to the setting, and it seemed to fix it.  I still don't like it puts a folder icon in the upper left corner of every movie now. :(

Minus say recaching more info will be needed along with server log with possibly debug logging enabled.

I had no issues with the prior version of Emby.  The slowness was noticed by my users at the install of 4.9.1.80 on 10/7/2025.
