I have not been able to connect to my Emby server remotely since installing v. 4.9.1.80.

No matter what I try, it says "unable to reach server"

Hi, are you sure you're using the correct remote address? Are you able to connect to the server web interface inside the local network?

Yes. The remote address has not changed. I was using a domain with SSL. I tried disabling SSL, then tried reverting back to to public IP instead of domain. Nothing worked.

Yes, I am able to connect to server via LAN and WAN while inside the local network. But can not connect at all with any device outside local network.

Plex has no trouble connecting to the server (using same machine as server, same IP, same libraries).

Everything was working fine until the upgrade. Tried restarting, rebooting, etc.

Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred:

Thanks!

Not necessarily. Remember they have a relay feature that kicks in automatically whenever a direct connection is not possible. The relay feature routes everything through their own servers and then their apps just talk to that.

Yes.

It was working prior to the upgrade. Had been working for weeks, months...  After the upgrade, I tried disabling SSL (and clearing SSL cert path). Then removed external domain.

Restarted Emby server. Rebooted machine.

Network settings are now default, I believe (whitelist, auto...).

Can you please show a screenshot of your network settings?

When I get the chance. Would the update have caused anything on the settings to change? Everything was working just fine immediately before the update.

Not that I can think of. Please provide that as well as the emby server log:

Thanks !

With these settings, what does canyouseeme.org show you for port 8096?

Success: I can see your service on XXX.XX.XX.XX on port (8096)
Your ISP is not blocking port 8096

It doesn't seem to make a difference. I've tried Android on multiple devices (tablet, phone), several smart tv's, streaming devices, web (various devices, various browsers). None work outside the network.

How exactly are you trying to connect? Are you entering the server address manually?

Emby apps. Emby connect (auto) or Emby -> new server -> manual

When you enter the remote address, are you sure you're using the correct remote address? Where did you get it from?

Emby connect (auto)

can you also check server settings for the user account to see that it is linked to the Emby Connect user account.

If it is linked to the email address in user settings, you could try removing the link saving the change and accepting the prompt and then adding it

you should get emails for the linking

After this, exit the emby app and relaunch and try again with sign into through emby connect

I am 100% positive. Remote IP address works perfectly with Plex, when setting up domain re-direct, etc. It used to work perfectly with Emby. The ONLY thing that changed was the Emby update.

What is my IP Address, nslookup, Terminal -> ifconfig, ipconfig, checked router, etc.
