Specials not getting their own season

So, usually with my file structure like this;

-> Series
      -> Specials
      -> Season 1

Emby always spat the "Specials" folder out as a separate season like in this first screenshot, but on some shows it instead changes the season name to "Extras" and shows me it below Season 1, instead of side by side as seasons like usual.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or is it doing that because the Series only contains one season?

How are files named in your Specials folder (seems it's not recognized as a special episode, maybe missing season 0 identifier, i.e. S00Exx)? If you rename folder to Season 0, how does it compare? What is your preferred series display in your user preferences>Display tab?

Files in the special folder always use the S00E01 format (for Season 0)
Renaming the Specials folder to Season 0 didn't change anything though.

I use the "Show all episodes for single season series" display option, and while "Always show season folders" obviously fixes my issue, for every series with only one season I'd need to rename every "Season 1" for my liking, which I'm not really down to do for 150 shows, especially when only two whole shows in my catalogue have that specific issue

Not sure what do you mean by that, why would you rename any Season 1 folder?

Based on your screenshot and that Extras episode title, that particular episode was not recognized as a special episode, could you share About section details from the bottom of episode detail screen?

At least with anime Emby often changes up the Season names (for specific arcs or whatever), that's what I meant

And Emby does recognize it as a Special episode (At least it says "Special -") and it's also using the correct TVDB metadata

In that case I'm unclear why it would be listed under Extras instead of inline with other Season 1 episodes. Maybe the Dev might have some idea. @Luke

They are special episodes. All it's doing is splitting them onto their own line and separating them from the regular episodes.

The title of the section is Specials, not Extras. I think this is an error with the german translation.

So I guess there's no way to change that unless I use "Always show season folders"?

Does that mean that behavior is changed for 4.9 branch? As in 4.8 I'm getting specials displayed inline for single season shows?

Edit: Scratch that, just tested on 4.9 and it indeed adds new row for Specials and episode title doesn't have "Special - " prefix any more. So you're right, it's just translation issue.

Wouldn't it make more sense if the heading title were Specials? Would you even have thought twice if that were the case?

But please note - episodes that have special episode placement, e.g. "airs before episode"...those will still be inline with the regular episodes.

I'm just used to all other Specials I have showing up as a season next to the normal seasons, so having only two outliers is kinda annoying haha

You can always assign them airs before season/episode values, but of course that will cause them to be treated more like regular episodes, meaning showing in continue watching.
