Disabled remote connection, locked myself out, can it be fixed?

Hey everyone, first time using/setting up emby, on truenas scale. I have everything setup and media scanning for metadata. Well, my stupidass disabled remote access thinking it would disable WAN connectivity, and now I'm locked out. I get "forbidden" whenever I plug in the LAN IP address of the server.

Am I destined to reinstall everything again?

Thanks

You will have to shutdown Emby and edit your system.xml to reenable it.

Do not now this platform path but looks something like this

Data path: /var/db/emby-server/config

Thanks @Happy2Playgot my access back. How do I delete WAN access? The documentation says to untick remote access, which is what got me here

https://emby.media/support/articles/Hosting-Settings.html?q=disable wan

That is the correct way, but I guess the real question is why is your connection considered Remote?

You may have to add your local network to LAN Networks but not enough info on your overall setup.

Thanks again for the reply. As I mentioned I am using TrueNAS Scale NAS, it uses/has docker apps so I installed emby on one. I followed the emby wizard to set the path for media (music, movies etc), after next next next, it starts the service and I can access everything. The IP addresses and access settings are set by default.

Sorry don't know anything about the platform so some else will have to comment on this local connection issue being seen as Remote.

Hi, @emby-newbyou’ll need try edit the server config file to undo the changes. You can find it by locating the server data folder:

Emby Server Data Folder

 then going from the to/config/system.xml

look for the EnableRemoteAccess node and set it to true. Then start the server. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
