Something changed with this in the most recent update because a lot of my media that used image capture now just show the exact same picture whereas through the last update they did not.

My Emby server is on a Synology 7.2+.

If you have a series of videos that have the same intro like a TV or videos from your youtube channel, the image capture is all now identically set to 10s or something to the best of my knowledge. If the intro is more than that length of time, the screen capture all look identical.

Prior to the current update, the image captures all looked different. I'm not sure what was done if they were just automatically set later in the videos or if there was something to capture a frame after intros, previously. But up until this update the image capture functioned better.

Coupled with the worse search function that means if you use image captures and search for a tv show like "Star Trek Trouble" 79 Star trek episodes with the exact same screen capture show up along with Big Trouble In Little China, Starletta Dupois, and any file that has the words "star", "trek", or "trouble" in it. It sort of makes the screen capture less viable of a thing since its hard to distinguish media files now.

There is a slightly involved work around that's not too bad. If you set the image capture to the folder, they now show up whereas prior to this update, I could never see them. But it means I can just run a script with ffmpeg to capture a different frame on all the files in the folder and set it to a reasonable frame the replaces the *-poster.jpg.

To be honest, this is less a problem for most users with media files listed on a database of metadata and more an issue for people with their home videos or a tv series that isn't listed in a movie database.
