IainB 3 Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 I'm trying to setup Emby Tizen app so that on app start it displays a list of users to stop family members taking the path of least resistance and watching everything under my account. Hower, if I set "startup behaviour" to show login screen, it always requires the password for the account to be entered regardless of the "remember me" option being checked. Then when signed in, I can switch to other users from the usual top right menu without their password, so I assume credentials must be cached somewhere? Additionally, after login, it also appears to reset the startup behaviour to "Remember last user" I believe there is a pin option, that might be easier than password but want it as simple as possible without assigning pins for everyone. Is there something I'm missing? I switched over from Plex a year or so ago, the simple Netflix/Prime style profile picker at launch is the only bit I miss.
visproduction 315 Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Lain, I am not entirely clear on your question. Cached user passwords are per user's hardware / workstation or mobile. If you had used correct password for anyone in your browser and probably in any app, the browser or software on your workstation, mobile will remember the password and let you in. Anyone on different hardware have to go through the same process. If they know their own password, then it can be cached. Other people's password would probably not be known then they will be prompted to enter a password. I hope that helps.
Luke 42077 Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 HI, yes what exactly is the behavior that you want? Once we know that, then we can suggest how to configure the startup behavior and/or pin codes. Thanks.
IainB 3 Posted October 8, 2025 Author Posted October 8, 2025 To Clarify: I currently have several family member users logged into emby on my Samsung TV. On launch, It currently logs into the last active user without needing a password. I can then use the top right menu to switch to another user. Everyone's credentials must already be cached from the first time entered, as it doesn't ask me for a password on subsequent switches. What I would like is the same type of startup behaviour that you can get from Netflix, Prime, Disney etc or even plex when using multiple accounts / profiles. A user select screen that has each users icon and does not require a password or pin. If I change startup behaviour in the Tizen app to show login screen, on restarting I do get a page that shows all the users. However, It forces me to enter a password for whatever account I pick. I will then be logged in, and I am again able to switch to any of the other users without needing a password via the top right menu. If I then go back into settings, Startup behaviour will have reverted to log in last user, so it only works once. All I'm looking for is a simple pick your profile type screen, no pass, no pin on each app launch that stops people just playing content from whatever account is active. Hope that explains it better, thanks! 1 1

Sounds like OP wants the behaviour that you just fixed in a recent Android app update to use cached creds on the user select screen. 1
