so Emby updated the other day (not beta full version). everything seemed fine, then yesterday I noticed maybe 80% of my shows missing, movies were fine

2.5 hours to rescan them all then once again I thought everything was fine. Nope, woke up this morning to the same shows missing again. so far I'm 3 hours into another rescan.

Hi, after the scan completes, does it happen again after that?

Posted

well twice so far, will see how it goes today.

If it continues then try removing the EpMetaRefresh plugin and see how things compare after that.

Mmm it was fine for a few days now bam 80% of my shows are missing, but with a new twist, it will NOT re add them.

A library scan runs fine for about 12 seconds, completes, doesn't add anything.

I removed the plugin, didn't help, every day or two it loses the shows and then does another 3 hour rescan.

Is this folder no longer there?

Or rather, was it no longer there at that time?

the folders and files never change, only the NFO is getting modified.

Mmm, scanning the library has become super unreliable, it is either a 12 second scan that adds nothing, or if you try again nearly everything vanishes and takes 3 hours to add back again.

I have tried the new library idea, didn't work.

looks like a case of curiosity killed the cat this morning. I have been wondering why only one (television) of my three libraries is afflicted. Now I know. 😧

I didn't want another 3 hour rescan after i added 2 movies this morning, so decided to do a libary scan of my movies library instead.

Yup, now most of my movies are missing and it's shaping up around 2 hours to add them back again.

Seems to be ANY library you start a manual scan on then becomes rubbish at scanning.

and of course after every big rescan, I get this email.

seems to be a 12 hourly occurence now, library media scan runs for 12 seconds, 80% of all TV series kind of vanish (see screnshot), then a 3 hour library scan fix it, until rinse/repeat.

ok on the third recreation of this library not only are all behaviors back to normal, but the scans are now correctly adding new media lickity split, at about 30 seconds.

The only difference? I left this setting off, that was enabled before.

I have this same issue, I believe. I haven't changed anything with my setup or file/folder structure. All of a sudden, I see the same behavior as your screenshot above. Rescanning the TV library does not fix it. Recreating the TV library also did not work (something I really didn't want to do...). This started around October 7th when a user first reported it to me, though I can't tell if that's the day it started or the first day someone let me know. Here's my screenshot so you can see the behavior. If this needs to be a separate issue, let me know and I'll open a new thread.

The files themselves all work fine.

Have you checked the setting I mentioned? what worked for me was recreating the library with it turned off.

Apologies for the disruption. I don’t think this option matters. I think it’s more the recreation of the library that resolved it for you.

In my case, this did not resolve the issue. @Lukedo you want me to start a new post/thread?

While that is possible it seems odd that only worked on the third try.

Anything else I can try? Other logs I can give?

Hi, try removing the movies library from Emby library setup and then adding it back.

Hi Luke. I'm going to start my own thread, I think, but just for context...I did do this with my TV library and it ended up breaking again after the initial scan.
