Cyberbob2021 13 Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 Hi Sorry I am putting this in the wrong place, I'm in the process of changing my IPS, I have Vodaphone, and its been working fine for years, I still have Vodaphone. But am testing the 3 home broadband, %G everything is working great. so I swapped emby over to it, internal everything is great, but when I try to connect external nothing, the server is showing a Wan address its green, but I don't think its updating connect, and I'm not sure you can port forward with these 5g routers, it seems limited, I have not dumped Vodaphone yet, hoping to get a solution, because its faster upload download than Vodaphone & half the price. does anyone else have any experience using using 5G three home broadband & emby connect at all ? Thanks in advance
Cyberbob2021 13 Posted October 7, 2025 Author Posted October 7, 2025 Solved, you can infact port forward, with 3 home broadband, & it works. so far so good. just have to log into router via a pc & not the app, dumb I should have worked that out. Access your Router: Open a web browser and go to your router's IP address (e.g., 192.168.0.1) to access the web interface. Log In: Enter your administrator username and password to log in. Locate Port Forwarding: Look for a section like "Internet," "Security," "Advanced," or "Firewall" and select "Port Forwarding". Create a New Rule: Click on "Create New Item" or "Add new port mapping". Enter Details: Name: Give your rule a descriptive name. Protocol: Choose between TCP, UDP, or both. Destination IP Address: Enter the static IP address of the device you want to forward the port to. WAN Port: The port you want to open from the internet to your router. LAN Port: The port that the device on your local network is listening on. Apply Settings: Save your new port forwarding rule.

Your Welcome, Couple of notes The 5G router I'm working with is the ZTEModel MC888A, 5G Three Home Broadband Best advice I can give, is use a pc or MacBook to log into the router, as on ipad or iphone, the pc mode don't seem to work very well. & it wants you to use mobile mode, which is very very limited in settings, where pc mode you get all settings menu. another thing to note, YOU must be using a 5G broadband sim, if your trying to use a mobile sim in the router, the mobile network will not allow port forwarding. the is a difference between a Broadband Sim & Mobile Sim 1
