GaiusOmnibus 3 Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 Hi, For quite a while, my system worked quite well: a PC in the living room with my movies, series, and games stored on the hard drives, and the main screen on which the movies are displayed runs on the projector on a small touch screen next to the couch, which is the user interface. However, there are always little glitches that mean that, in the end, the whole thing doesn't always work as it should. In the end, my wife complained that the whole thing was far too complicated for her and that she couldn't manage it without me. So now I've changed my mind again and, for my wife's sake, I want to work with a NAS again, with the server running continuously, and she can start Infuze or Emby on the Apple TV or tablet and operate the whole thing like any other streaming software. My two other NAS devices were WD4100 and Synology DS-416 Slim, which I no longer have. Not only were they quite loud, but I also had the problem with both devices that as long as the server was installed on the NAS, I couldn't get 4K material to play back smoothly , no matter what settings I tried. I have this NAS in mind because of the volume and because it is supposedly designed for 4K output. https://www.qnap.com/de-de/product/hs-264 Does anyone know about this, and what is your experience with it? Greetings Omni
Luke 42077 Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 Hi, I hadn't heard of this model before but it does look nice. Should be great for Emby Server.
