KeithA 5 Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 I have a folder with many playlists in it. When I uploaded pictures for a given playlist previously, Emby created a file alongside the playlists that was named similar to the playlist but had a -poster added to the end of the name. I recently tried that same process however it appears Emby handles things differently after the recent update. Now Emby simply places a png file alongside the playlists that is named poster.png. This is a problem because it simply overwrites the file each time I upload an image for a playlist. In the end all playlists end up with the same image. It should be noted that all of the pictures I uploaded prior to the upgrade remain unchanged, thankfully. I am assuming this is a bug. What is the intended behavior?
KeithA 5 Posted October 7, 2025 Author Posted October 7, 2025 The folder has sub folders that contain my music files. The root folder itself has my playlists. When I previously would upload pictures for a playlist Emby would place an image file alongside the playlists. Those image files all had a unique name. There are some of those files in there as well. The new way seems to put a image file there with a default name that gets overwritten each time I upload an image for a given playlist resulting in all playlists having the same image. Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 How many playlists are in the folder? can you please show the contents of the folder? Thanks.
KeithA 5 Posted October 7, 2025 Author Posted October 7, 2025 I am not at my computer but would say there are well in excess of 100 files in the root folder. They consist of .m3u8, .jpeg, .gif and .png files. Thanks

lisapeters734 0 Posted October 10, 2025 Posted October 10, 2025 If you’re transferring playlists between streaming platforms and want to keep the playlist images intact, MusConv helps move your playlists easily though note that cover art may depend on what’s supported by each platform. It’s a quick way to preserve your playlist identity even when switching services
