CineMac 1 Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 I have my Emby installation pretty much tamed now. The only main niggle is that I have 7 external disks with movies in, and each have been added and logged. A frame appears on the main server page for each disk, and I click on the image in the frame and it list all the entries for that disk. But the frame are in a line across the page so number 7 isn't able to be viewed. Is there any way to change the configuration of the 7 frames, so that maybe they're in 2 rows?
Luke 42077 Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 HI, have you tried the image size option in your user display settings?

Yeah I set them larger and they just continue to disappear off the screen instead of wrapping. Edited October 6, 2025 by CineMac
Luke 42077 Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 OK there is no option to force wrapping, although this question has come up before and more options are possible for future updates.

arrbee99 1815 Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 May I politely ask a daft question - why do have separate entries for each disk...why not one for movies, another for TV Series etc.
arrbee99 1815 Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 I think if you want to wrap this link might help - It only works in a browser and iit might possibly be out of date. Worth a try maybe.

Worth a try maybe. All my movies and TV are on external USB drives. I added them one by one calling them Movies 1, Movies 2, etc. I tried to get them all into 1 collection, but still retain a link so I knew which drive each film was on. But that wasn't possible so the only way to be sure, was to do the way I have done. I've got 2 drives jammed with TV shows too so one of them will be TV 1 and the other will be TV 2. I did ask ChatGPT to help and it wrote me a CSS script that would wrap them, but it broke other screens. My dashboard still hasn't gone back to how it should be. So I just kinda hoped they would wrap naturally when there was more of them but it doesn't'. Yours looks great, if you have a script that does that I'd love to have a go!

arrbee99 1815 Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 If by 'Yours looks great' you're referring to the accompanying image in the post above, should clarify that was Happy2Play. Anyway, I think this might make stuff wrap - div.view-home-home .homeSectionsContainer .itemsContainer { flex-wrap: wrap; } if you paste that into the css box (and save and refresh), which I think you've tried already, you might be lucky. Interesting about the external drives. Fr'instance my movies library links to 56 folders across 10 (internal) drives.
arrbee99 1815 Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 ...didn't spot that css file you added. Must admit thats way, way beyond me.

CineMac 1 Posted October 6, 2025 Author Posted October 6, 2025 I'm sorry my posts are going mad and I can't delete them Grrrr!!

Wouldn't the folder view for the library accomplish this? It really seems unnecessary to add several libraries for the same type of content when you can just add multiple folders to the same library. 1

Oh I've not seen that section. So if I put my little CSS snippet in there it will work, and it will also survive updates to the program right?

Correct as it is written to the branding.xml while editing css files directly will not survive a server update as the entire system folder is replaced. 1

If I add all the disk contents to the one library, I don't know which film is in which disk. The point is If I browse through them I know which disk to plug in if I want to watch a film.

The media path would be mentioned at the bottom of the details screen, so you'll know which drive to attach based on that.
CineMac 1 Posted October 6, 2025 Author Posted October 6, 2025 CSS added to that section. So I am 'update inoculated' now. Thanks for that.

They're USB external drives so they'd be permanently powered up if I plugged them all in and would not only use power but would be wearing themselves out. Plus it's one more device using a powered hub for them all. The simplest way is to browse the library, then pick the appropriate drive and plug in. I do wish I could join the libraries so it was one big resource, but as I say, there's no way then of knowing which film is in which drive.

You do, from the media path at the bottom of the item details as I already mentioned.

And even if there was, I don't know how to make it all one. It took me 3 days just to learn how to get films into it and I still don't understand all of it.
Lessaj 467 Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 (edited) I'm not really sure what view that is there's a lot more information than I'm used to seeing under posters, but go into the item details by clicking on its name, at the bottom will be the metadata site links and media info including the path. Guess it depends on you view as table will give you path But adding multiple folders to a library will give you those same folders in folder view. Same as if I added 27 drives. 1
