RicoUHD 0 Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 When I wanted to use Emby out of home, I had lagging in the app's integrated media player (using transcoding). First I thought it was just bad internet, but then I checked. While it worked perfectly fine using a web browser, it lagged using the app, even in LAN and transcoding. That lag got smaller when I limited the stream to 4 Mbps and was gone at anything lower. That problem first appeared since upgrading to 4.9.1.80 on the server. emby_android_1759724215642.txt
RicoUHD 0 Posted October 6, 2025 Author Posted October 6, 2025 (edited) Edit: With an external video player, the lagging is gone, but then I am not able to adjust the quality and language as easily. Edited October 6, 2025 by RicoUHD

Luke 42077 Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 HI, is it only an issue with certain content?
RicoUHD 0 Posted October 8, 2025 Author Posted October 8, 2025 5 minutes ago, Luke said: HI, is it only an issue with certain content? Yes and no. This only happens to movies I tested while I had the beta version (from the Play Store) installed (so it counts for all the movies, just from the beta playback). What I found is that it continues the lagging even with a fresh new install, but only on my phone using the app. Every other phone worked, and the web browser also worked. I figured out how to get rid of that by just converting and replacing the movies (though the movie files never had an issue). So technically, by not using the beta anymore and converting the watched media, I solved my problem, but maybe it still might be helpful information.
