supermood 71 Posted October 4, 2025 Posted October 4, 2025 hi experts, shouldn't there be a dolby digital 5.1 sound embedded in every true HD stream? or are there ones without that? how can I see that? in the detail info section on the bottom theres only one audio called true HD. I never had any sound issues with my 2 lg oled TVs but now I only have silence. I'm sure I didn't change a setting. got 2 tv updates recently and as we know with lg that usually doesn't mean something good. but they didn't change dolby sound support that would be impossible? and true HD was possible before, even without embedded 5.1 dolby 640kb crap Sound?? I'm on the latest beta without any issues so far. LG apps also latest. any ideas? mans thanks in advance!!
SamES 1056 Posted October 4, 2025 Posted October 4, 2025 Have you disabled the transcoding/audio conversion settings for the user? If it's TrueHD it should be converting automatically. 4 minutes ago, supermood said: shouldn't there be a dolby digital 5.1 sound embedded in every true HD stream? No, not that I'm aware of. That is the case for DTS-HD (with a DTS core) but not TrueHD.

I didn't disable it. it's on since ever. never realized it was used before, but I'm positive that I watched true HD (or the embedded one if there is one) via lg before Edited October 4, 2025 by supermood
supermood 71 Posted October 4, 2025 Author Posted October 4, 2025 that the setting here correct? not sure why I had to turn it on a second ago on my mobile. I checked via tablet an hour ago and it was on. the usual confusion with server and app settings I guess... but, as I cannot change it on the lg app that must be the server or here user setting. why was it turned off via mobile?
SamES 1056 Posted October 4, 2025 Posted October 4, 2025 Yes, that's the setting. They should all be on.
supermood 71 Posted October 4, 2025 Author Posted October 4, 2025 they are on but I still don't have sound via lg apps. no issue via external player or tablet and mobile, they are all playing the true HD stream (or the embedded one, or the converted one)
supermood 71 Posted October 4, 2025 Author Posted October 4, 2025 seems it can contain a dd 5.1 stream. anyway. what's wrong in my setup now? audio conversion is turned on. does the emby app not recognize that the tv cannot play dolby true HD?

supermood 71 Posted October 4, 2025 Author Posted October 4, 2025 (edited) is it not the setting allow audio transcoding if necessary? Edited October 4, 2025 by supermood

supermood 71 Posted October 4, 2025 Author Posted October 4, 2025 what does video transcoding do here? that was never on. but ok. it's on now. do I have to restart the server / docker ?
Solution supermood 71 Posted October 4, 2025 Author Solution Posted October 4, 2025 OK sorry that was stupid. audio transcoding was turned off again so scrolled down and realized I had to save settings. looked lore like a page saving settings on the go don't know why I thought that. now it's working true HD converted to ac3 2
