Problem with posters in one library.

I'm having a problem with the posters in just one of my libraries.
The posters gets scaled wrong and look awful.

This only happens in a mixed library where i have two folders connected into one.

/Serries _
                 |
/Movies_|
                |_To this library

All other libraries are fine.
I tried copying the settings from another similar library but the issue does not go away.
I tried removing all plugins, disabling collections, a meta scan refresh with replacing images, moving in and out movies and shows with no luck.
Also looked for posters that might have a strange resolution but all seems fine.

Yes.. I know i'm an animated comic nerd! ;)

Agree, that doesn't look appealing.

Is "Auto open single items in folder view" option enabled or disabled in your user Display settings?

Edit: Just came here after having a rant in CA plugin thread about similar issue with posters and presentation, so I'm somewhat antagonized by all these occurrences.

The setting is off, tried it with on but had no effect what so ever.

Yeah it looks very bad and really tickles my OCD. 😵‍💫
Going to read the CA thread to follow up on this.

That's odd, maybe that's just the new presentation, though I'm still trying to figure it all out. There ever few related topics about folder view today, one in particular was concerning Mixed-content libraries, one example had placeholders like yours (square) :

The other example has normal 2:3 AR posters on folders:

So I'm still trying to get to the bottom of that and what is causing it.

What happens if you add a media item directly into root folder, without its folder?

Hi, what's happening is the folders don't have images, so the UI is grabbing the images from something underneath. When this happens, the aspect ratio of the inherited image isn't being passed along, so this needs to be looked at. Thanks.

Ever tested this?

Another thing, do you have library option to Merge top level folders enabled? If you don't, what happens if you enable it (i.e. having both Movies and TV shows displayed together in Folders view, as it used to)?

Is this behaviour consistent for all users after the upgrade? Seems I don't have this issue.

No change with either of those.

I'm considered trying to just make one folder and see if that works but it's a lot of data that will have to be moved.

It's not even consistent for me, it's only one library doing it. :)

I've narrowed it down to maybe being one movie being a problem, not 100% sure though.

@LukeThink i found the problem.
It happens as soon as the library hits a certain number of movies/series in folder view.

I don't have the precise number of videos yet but around 60-70.
Sadly don't have more time to test before tomorrow.

Those folders probably have images assigned.

They have indeed.

@LukeI have no tried to replace all the images in the library and it didn't fix the problem. It still seems to happen when the library hits around 70 movies/shows.

Right the folders probably do not have images assigned as I've mentioned above.

Sorry if i misunderstand you, as said my english understanding can be a bit bad at times.

I don't think images are the issue.
Lets say i have 70 movies and TV shows in the folder, i remove a random one so the number is 69 and the posters are shown as they should.
Add a random movie and the posters are scaled badly again.
Remove another random movie and it's back to normal.

Something seems to happen when i hit that magic number.

Edit:
I fixed it by making the the library point to only one folder and not two.
I used to have it point to two folders, one for movies and one for series. Merging the folders solved the problem.

If you use the image editor on the folders, do the folders have images assigned?
