WilliamtheBard 0 Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 Hello! First post here, I have a DSS220+ on which I just updated my HDDs. I transferred all my media files over and reinstalled emby. When I try to load the emby server, it's saying my login isn't legit. When I click "forgot password" it says it's creating a file on my server, but I cannot find the file for the life of me. So for right now, I'm totally unable to access emby on any device, curious if anyone can tell me how to do a reset on emby without logging in, or if there is a default password I should be trying. Thanks!

Have you taken a look at: Emby Server Data Folder Ahhh, I wasn't seeing it as I didn't know I need to go through a terminal connection. I'm still learning about how to use everything on my server, and my linux/cmd line judo is a bit rusty. I was able to view the file and get the password reset, thank you so much!
VIDE08 2 Posted November 28, 2025 Posted November 28, 2025 I had the same issue once — you can reset it by deleting the “users.db” file in the Emby program data folder and restarting the server. That’ll let you set up a new admin login from scratch.
