Emby Beta Update Last Night

I've been running Emby beta for a few weeks and it's great. However, yesterday I saw there was an update and restarted Emby. It hung up on restart, so I shut everything down and restarted. Now, I am back in 4.8 stable, but I do not know how. 4.9 beta is nowhere in sight. Anyone else have a similar issue with the update?

Most problems I saw regarding the upgrade from 4.8 to 4.9 were incompatible plugins. Do you have any plugins manually installed on your system? If so, disable all of them and try to restart server. Then activate one plugin after another until you find the one being the culprit.

Sorry for the late replay. As for plug-ins, I did not have any installed in 4.8 that were not part of the original installation. However, this was the reason I was changing to the beta: I wanted the Web Stream plugin and it is only available with the beta.

Since I posted this, an odd thing happened. I came home from work the day I posted this, and looked at the setup and it had changed to 4.9.1.25 (I think it was 25, did not write it down), but it said I needed to restart the server to update. I did and it updated to 4.9.1.80. My Web Streams plugin was missing and I noticed that it now had applied a theme that I had installed in 4.8: this was not in my original installation of the beta, but now had resurfaced. I installed Web Streams again and set it up and everything seems to be working.

There was another oddity when I first tried to move to the beta. I downloaded the setup file but it would not install. I kept receiving an error that the installation was blocked by the administrator of the computer. Which is odd since I am the administrator. I tried various things over several days, like running the setup file as the administrator, installing from the command line, etc. It would not install, so I gave up. About a week later, I opened Emby and it was at the setup screen. I did not know why, but it was suddenly trying to install the beta. I completed it and had to set everything up again (fresh install, not an upgrade of the existing system apparently), and it worked fine until this last update, which brings us to this post.

Pertaining to what I mean when I say Emby hung up, after selecting the option to restart the server, it went through the normal process, but when Emby restarted, it would only display the title bar (Emby logo), and the rest of the screen was blank. I never had this happen before.

So, I hope this info helps. As I said, I am working again, I just don't know how I got here!  Thanks for the response to my post.
