Media Libary Wiped after Scan Library / Update Metadata

So, I am not sure how this happened, but after asking Emby to rescan my library files and update metadata (I was trying to figure out how to get it to disentangle three albums it had mashed together into one album for some reason), I found that all but four of the music folders in my music library had disappeared. There was nothing in the recycling bin indicating deleted files, so I checked for deleted files using file recovery software and sure enough, there's my entire library, much of it in an unrecoverable state. I am currently attempting to recover what I can, but this is a pretty strange (and very disheartening) outcome. I don't imagine that anyone will be able to help with the file recovery, but I think it's important to report a bug of this severity, even if it only occurs very infrequently.

@Lukewas there a change to CollapseVideoFolders/CollapseSingleItemFolders causing all these library rests?

Hi, apparently so. We'll have to look into why.

I haven't exactly trusted Emby to handle my music library after this, so I haven't been using it for that, nor have I asked it to update any metadata or manually rescan the library. Not exactly the kind of bug I'm keen to replicate on my own data. Was the QA team able to replicate the bug?

Yes I see what happened. When you used the web interface to delete the playlist bcr.m3u, the delete operation went up an extra level when it shouldn't have. We will get that corrected in a maintenance release. Thanks.

For what it's worth though, when you delete, the paths that will be deleted are calculated ahead of time and displayed to you as a safeguard. This is not a justification but just a mention as it's important to always double check that.
