EPG Data and the Emby API

I am just looking to either verify or dispel my assumption that because the Emby dashboard does not show the EPG data of what is currently on the channel someone is watching that this info is not available in the API?

As some of us know, I am often in the running for worlds biggest idiot and the perfect example what happens when people work off assumptions so I am going to be very specific:

I am trying to add the info of what is currently playing on the channel being watched to my media cards on my Home Assistant dashboard. I would think (and I can be very wrong and maybe it can't or it already can be) that it cant be done because Emby does not use the EPG info in that way or it would be used in it's own dashboard cards.... but again I could be wrong.
