dfajar2 2 Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 This is a tricky one (I think). I have multiple types of devices I use with my Emby Synology server DS220+. The problem that I have faced a few times is that a movie plays only on certain devices. I have a couple of examples. I have a movie that plays well on Roku and the Samsung TV app, but when I try to stream it in my mini iPad, the app crash and closes. ' Another case is that I have another one that plays well on all, but not on my Roku. When I try to play it on Roku, the movie get's stuck with a 13% progress when trying to open it Why does this happen? Is there a way to minimize these errors? Does the device I use to watch limits what movies it can stream? Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

dfajar2 2 Posted October 2, 2025 Author Posted October 2, 2025 So far yes, these two files, one that doesn't play on Roku app and another file that doesn't play in the iPad.
dfajar2 2 Posted October 9, 2025 Author Posted October 9, 2025 Yes. If I run them through Handbrake using Fast 1080p30 Settings they can be reproduced in all devices. It's so confusing.
Luke 42077 Posted October 9, 2025 Posted October 9, 2025 Sounds like something in those files that the players can’t cope with. How were they originally authored?
