As a work around (or troubleshooting) you can try making a new m3u file using some editing apps that might be more compatible with emby.

ie https://m3u4u.com/ or https://iptvboss.pro/

When I initially encountered issues with the m3u URL provided by the host, the m3u files are now being restricted by providers and are only compatible for playback purposes. Consequently, when you load them onto apps, they play flawlessly. However, Emby refuses to play locked m3u URLs based on my experience. Therefore, I decided to use the Extreme Online Editor. In this editor, I was able to utilize my XC credentials, modify the playlist to my preference, and once done, it generates a brand new m3u URL and an XmlTV URL that Emby accepts. The online editor offers a 7-day free trial, but I opted for the one year version for $20usd or so. It was well worth it. I hope this helps.

I will share my solution. Kind of a workaround for any of those that might be interested. It worked for me today. 2025-10-24.

I had an m3u that would not load any tv series into Emby, movies and channels were working fine. I did use the iptveditor.com to enter my Xtreme URL , username, password.

After that I took the Xtreme output https://xapi-ie.cc/get.php?username=2345678&password=12345678&type=m3u_plus to load into Web Streams plugin for tv series.

But first, I clicked on each and every tv series that I wanted and clicked show episodes then only after that did they appear. Then I pressed the back button on the mouse, or if you want to press the x to exit that series it works too. After that I could load my desired Tv series m3u into Emby Web Streams and it populated with all the series that I had clicked on and opened in the editor.

Enough explaining, here is a short video on how It's done. This will hopefully allow others to use their blocked m3u into Emby. It's time consuming but the only way I could find that worked.

Great video, and yes, using the editor is a great way to go. For most people, when they receive an M3U URL from their provider, they lock the m3u not allowing emby to insert it. Most people are unable to bypass the Emby live TV setup after entering the M3U URL. When they attempt to save, they encounter an error code. Editor is the only solution, you must use your xtreme credentials once in select live content and on-demand options of your choice. Therefore, the solution is to use the editor’s modified M3U file to avoid these errors.

I removed iptv from Emby last night and put my codes into Tivimate, It was all working and then when I checked again later, non of the content would play, it said "no supported streams" When it did play there was excessive buffering. If there was a way to integrate wireguard vpn with webstreams plugin then I could set my location to somewhere else when it gets blocked and if there was support for xtreme codes then it would accept my provider. I have lots of disk space empty I don't really need to rely on iptv I just liked how it would complete all my collections with movies and the live tv, feedback from my viewers they said that DAZN, UFC PPV, or FUBO TV are not working.

It could be the provider, not you. I say this because I manage an IPTV panel myself and I get to choose the location for my users. Perhaps the provider already has a VPN that interferes with yours. My suggestion is to try another provider to see if you get any buffering. I can help you with a new provider if you need one.
