woshiekao 0 Posted May 21 Posted May 21 I'm a Plex Pass subscriber, and they really aren't making any effort to improve. I've suggested many ways to optimize the service, but they never take any of them on board.
CBers 7611 Posted May 21 Posted May 21 (edited) The price for a new Plex Lifetime Pass is increasing from $249 to $749 on 1st July 2026. https://www.plex.tv/en-gb/blog/new-lifetime-plex-pass-pricing/ Edited May 21 by CBers 1
howllor 33 Posted May 21 Posted May 21 I started with Kodi, then tried Plex, then Jellyfin, then Emby. Emby felt more solid than Jellyfin, plus had support for shared playlists which was important to me as a music user. 1
adrianwi 282 Posted May 21 Posted May 21 I cancelled my lifetime plexpass in 2022 (which I'd had since 2013) after one of their security breaches, and the only way I could get them to delete my data was to close my account and lifetime plexpass. I'd never use their software again though, even if you paid me. 2
solidus28 12 Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Think I was something like Disc Carousel > XBMC > Kodi > Media Browser > Emby. Dabbled with Plex, but nothing I needed there that I didn't have with Emby.
ZanderKeen 76 Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I was late to the media-game but I started out with Plex. I only used it for a month and as more and more issues arsed from things outside of my control/server such as relying on them for user accounts plus a data breach around that same time, I moved to Jellyfin. I used that for a few months but it was lacking a few polished features me and my family wanted which Emby had. So we moved to Emby after that.
mgworek 135 Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Mine was XBMC > Kodi > Plex > Front Row > Kodi > Plex > Media Browser > Emby. I was going back and forth there for a bit because I was frustrated and at the time if I remember correctly MB was windows only and i refused to have a windows server at home. I got really pissed at Plex like 12 years ago because of problems with their software and they were blaming the problems on us, the users. I was like I am done. At that time I looked back at MB because I liked how it looked and realized I could install it on Linux. Haven't looked back. I should sell my plex account with lifetime. 1
