What % of Emby users started with Plex?

I'm a Plex Pass subscriber, and they really aren't making any effort to improve. I've suggested many ways to optimize the service, but they never take any of them on board.

I started with Kodi, then tried Plex, then Jellyfin, then Emby. Emby felt more solid than Jellyfin, plus had support for shared playlists which was important to me as a music user.

I cancelled my lifetime plexpass in 2022 (which I'd had since 2013) after one of their security breaches, and the only way I could get them to delete my data was to close my account and lifetime plexpass.

I'd never use their software again though, even if you paid me.

Think I was something like Disc Carousel > XBMC > Kodi > Media Browser > Emby.  Dabbled with Plex, but nothing I needed there that I didn't have with Emby.

I was late to the media-game but I started out with Plex. I only used it for a month and as more and more issues arsed from things outside of my control/server such as relying on them for user accounts plus a data breach around that same time, I moved to Jellyfin. I used that for a few months but it was lacking a few polished features me and my family wanted which Emby had. So we moved to Emby after that.

Mine was XBMC > Kodi > Plex > Front Row > Kodi > Plex > Media Browser > Emby. I was going back and forth there for a bit because I was frustrated and at the time if I remember correctly MB was windows only and i refused to have a windows server at home. I got really pissed at Plex like 12 years ago because of problems with their software and they were blaming the problems on us, the users. I was like I am done. At that time I looked back at MB because I liked how it looked and realized I could install it on Linux. Haven't looked back. I should sell my plex account with lifetime. 😂
