sparticle 2 Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 I have a number of TV Shows with the following structure. TV Show Name>Season number>Episode name.mkv or avi etc. Within each Season Folder there is a folder called Subs which has the following structure Subs>Episode name folder>all of the various language .srt files. E.g 3_English.srt, 5_Arabic.srt etc. None of the subtitles are found when scanning in the TV Show. I am having to manually create a subtitle file as Episode name.3_English.srt for instance and place that file in the Season Number Folder alongside the .mkv file. Then it appears in the subtitle list. This is a total PITA for a large series. The documentation seems to suggest Emby should read the Subs directory and the subtitles. Can anyone assist please. Cheers Spart
sparticle 2 Posted September 24, 2025 Author Posted September 24, 2025 Many thanks, but it is not working for me! I have an entire series with Season folders and a Sub folder in each season with folders named for each episode containing all of the various .srt files. None are picked up on a scan. Cheers Spart
Luke 42077 Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !
sparticle 2 Posted September 24, 2025 Author Posted September 24, 2025 Example structure for the Show, Season and Subs. Each Sub folder is named identically to the episode and contains the various .srt files. None are picked up on scanning. If I manually create a sub file such as Invasion.2021.S01E01.1080p.WEBRip.x265-RARBG[eztv.re].2_English.srt by renaming one of the .srt files and moving it up a directory to the season folder it is picked up after rescanning. Cheers Spart
Luke 42077 Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 OK the issue is due to the extra subfolder under the subs folder. I have not seen that variation before.
sparticle 2 Posted September 24, 2025 Author Posted September 24, 2025 Thank you for the prompt reply. Is there a solution or do I need to manually do them? Cheers Spart
Luke 42077 Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 We'd have to add support for that. What software saved them like that?
Luke 42077 Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 OK never heard of that. I wonder if some of the more popular tools save like this?
Lessaj 467 Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 That means they're downloaded like that since Transmission is a torrent client. 1
