I can't find a way to play the next song in the emby iOS app

Hi, emby team

After upgrading to iOS 26, my emby iOS app is experiencing issues. I can't find the "Next" button on the song playback and lyrics screens as usual. Now, I can only switch to the next song by opening iOS's Control Center.

Also, I've noticed that I can't switch between the lyrics view and the song poster view. If I've previously enabled the lyrics view for a song, it will only display the lyrics; if I've previously enabled the album cover, it will only display the album cover, and I can't switch between the two.

My iOS Emby version is 2.2.42

@LukeI just updated to 2.2.43 and found that the problem still exists. I can't find the previous and next buttons. The interface is the same as 2.2.42 and has not changed.

What did you press play on? I can see the buttons when I press play on an album.

@LukeYou can check out the screen recording I captured. No matter I click to play from the recommendation, album, playlist, or artist, the previous and next buttons are not displayed.

I'm seeing similar issue on video play... I used to see a fimilar to "| >" buttom on botom left of the screen, now I only see "Info, Chapters, Cast & Crew and Up Next".

There's also another problem that I'll open a new thread about which is background (or PiP) is not working. If you switch to any other app, or lock the phone, the Emby App crashes.

Hi, @LukeI noticed that the emby app on iOS released version 2.2.44 yesterday. I have updated it, but the bug still exists. Which version is expected to fix it?

@Luke The interface is just like the screenshot I showed you before, without the previous and next buttons, and nothing has changed.

@Lukethe same happens for me. Since the last 2 updates, the „live view“ of songs playing is not working at all. No way to access any controls, lyrics, next up playlist, nothing. The view doesn’t even show the progress of the song

@Luke Hi, I tried completely uninstalling emby from my iPhone and then reinstalling it from the App Store. After the reinstall it worked fine again.

@LukeI attached a screenshot. Whenever I click on the „live play“ or whatever it’s called thing, first off the bottom bar doesn’t disappear. There’s no way to access the lower buttons since they are covered by the bar. The time isn’t moving forward, the synced lyrics don’t move. It’s like the screen is frozen

@LukeI can force reproduce this by toggling Lyrics one and off from Landscape to may home row appear and buttons disappear.  So it is something specific to Lyrics display. 

Steps I took to reproduce

Have not enabled lyrics on any playback yet

Play a song

enable lyrics

hit back arrow

now reenter playlist/now playing

buttons are gone and home row remains

rotate to landscape and untoggled lyrics

hit home button

now reenter playlist/now playing

buttons are available and no home row

 

Only tested on 2.2.44

@Luke yes, they are time synced lyrics. And as said by @Happy2Playthe problem doesn’t occur when the lyrics are turned off before starting the song. But if they are active, the homebar blocks the lower buttons and it’s not the time doesn’t appear to move forward

Technically you don't need to do that as I mentioned above.  You just have to change to Landscape and turn off/disable lyrics.

True and uninstalling also only works until the lyrics are turned back on. Then it’s the same as before.

But the synced lyric functionality has to be fixed

Is there any way to fix this? There has been at least two updates and the problem is still there
