MediaEmby1968 47 Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 Hello. When I start the Emby server (installed on a PC), I get this error that appears on line 260. The question is, is this normal or is it just an error? embyserver.txt
Q-Droid 989 Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 It looks like your server couldn't reach github when it started. Possibly a temporary condition (I can reach it) or something on your server/network preventing the outbound call from reaching the site. If I'm not mistaken this is Emby checking for updates.
MediaEmby1968 47 Posted September 24, 2025 Author Posted September 24, 2025 Hi, @Q-Droidthanks for responding. I don't know if that's the case... but I'm wondering if it's a firewall issue or an internet service provider issue. Could this be related to why a movie sometimes freezes on my Samsung Smart TV? I use Manjaro Linux, and the update issue comes from the Manjaro team, so I don't care. I can't do anything about that. Best regards.
Q-Droid 989 Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 The call runs daily so you can check the log to see if other attempts worked or failed. If others worked then it was a temporary condition. You can also test the same URL from the command line using curl. Not likely firewall unless you went out of your way to block specific outbound connections. Same for ISP, no reason to block that. I doubt it's related to playback problems.

Luke 42077 Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 Quote but I'm wondering if it's a firewall issue or an internet service provider issue. Typical causes are firewall, security software, VPN, or the domain being blocked in your area.
MediaEmby1968 47 Posted September 24, 2025 Author Posted September 24, 2025 Thanks to both of you, I will continue like this... I see that it does not affect the functioning of emby.

So I would keep an eye on that.
MediaEmby1968 47 Posted September 25, 2025 Author Posted September 25, 2025 Thanks @Luke I'll be on the lookout. 1
