Warcrafter 2 Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 Hello everyone, I’m using Emby on a Synology NAS. In the Package Center, the Emby server properties show an external URL (DDNS address). Since I’ve disabled remote access for security, this URL no longer works. Is there a way to change or customize the URL shown in the Synology Package Center to use the local IP address or a different internal address? Thanks in advance for any guidance! Kind Regards, René
Neminem 1518 Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 try with this http://nasIP:8096 Replase nasIP with the ip of your nas.
Warcrafter 2 Posted September 20, 2025 Author Posted September 20, 2025 Hi, thanks for your reply, but I don't have the problem to get on the emby server with my nasIP: http://192.168.178.xx:8096/ But when I click on the Icon on the Synology Desktop this URL is shown (which is also the URL from the package center) and this URL isn't working anymore:
FrostByte 5392 Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 Just guessing, but I thought DSM filled that in Do you have anything in the hostname box below. Mine is blank. My link uses the server's name I presume from here Which gets changed here
Warcrafter 2 Posted September 20, 2025 Author Posted September 20, 2025 yes, there was an external hostname in the field, I deleted it and restarted my server, but the URL didn't change. Emby (or DSM) still uses the external URL I posted in my second answer...

Luke 42077 Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 Hi, I've referred this to our build and packaging developer for comment. Thanks. 1

FrostByte 5392 Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Did you ever resolve this? If not, try loading 4.9.1.80 which is now the latest stable. Now that you cleared that hostname field, I'm guessing that the new install will build the link correctly.

There is still the URL from the hostname field, so the link is still wrong 1
