tv series poster naming on beta.

I have a structure of

image.png.edd2d3c6c91b67583bd364a195b398d2.png

in the Season 01 folder I have:

image.png.7f9c6c225d8d3e1f50bb2425c455af8a.png

the Season 01.jpg is not picked up at the season poster.  every one of my series has this same structure with the same naming conventions.

the naming convention at https://emby.media/support/articles/TV-Naming.html  states:

seasonXX-poster.ext (in series folder only)

does the new beta still require this specific naming?  I assume so based on results....    Is this a bug for Version 4.9.1.34 beta  or as designed?

thoughts?  should it see season 01.jpg as the season 01 thumbnail on the beta or not?

hi, I don't believe I've ever seen anyone using this before. Normally inside the season folder you would just do folder.jpg.

What software is creating these?

Correct me if I'm wrong but correct naming will be at show level:

Season01-poster.jpg

Try to rename the Season01.jpg file to Season01-poster.jpg and move it to "The Blacklist...." folder not inside the season, then refresh metadata and re-scan the show for new files and the poster will show up.

Hope this helps

PS @Lukefolder.jpg works fine as the "show" poster (poster.jpg or folder.jpg) but does not work inside show seasons.

I wrote the process to rip the disks, create folder structures, pull selected art work.
I did figure out how to get this to work though.  If you notice the folder I am using is "season 1"  and the file is named "Season 01.jpg"   change them to match and Emby picks up the image as the thumb image.   Still having some issues with other shows, going to work through them and see what I can figure out.

awesome,  thanks for the reply.  I kind of like how your structuring your art.
I did figure out that I had a mismatch between the folder name and the image name.

The folder was Season 1   and the image was Season 01.jpg.

So if I change the folder or image name to match, say make them both "Season 01"  then Emby picks up the art.

Hi, it's not I'm structuring the art this way , is that I've setup emby to saves the art on the media folder, you can do it at your library configuration at:

image.png.2df77ca7207e41df5a7263526e5afc83.png

All art downloaded from TheTVDB or other artwork providers will be downloaded and named this way into your media folder.

If there's already present an image with this naming convention, emby will not download a new one and will use the one you provided.

I've started using this config when I migrated my server from a Computer to a NAS, so all my artwork is preserved and no overwritten when the media is identified again.

And btw, you need to name Season 01 to Season01-poster.jpg in order to emby reads it, and must be in the show folder, not the season folder.

Hope this helps.

That is a cool feature I have not messed with yet.

However, Emby does in fact pickup and use the image if it exists in the Season 01 folder, if the image name is exactly the same as the folder name.  So Emby is flexible and smart enough to figure out either location/naming.  That is if the user (me) is smart enough to actually make the file names match!
