xbmcgotham 35 Posted September 26, 2025 Author Posted September 26, 2025 Hi @NeminemI am familiar with Handbrake. What settings do you want me to change to as I am not sure what you are referring to in the for last post. Normally I would do a full conversion in handbrake.
Neminem 1518 Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 As I said I use Tdarr to do this on auto pilot. But from you screen shot it look like you are rencoding it. This is what I use in Tdarr. if (file.ffProbeData.streams[0].codec_type != "video") { response.infoLog += "Video is not in the first stream"; response.preset = ",-map 0:v? -map 0:a? -map 0:s? -map 0:d? -map 0:t? -c copy"; response.reQueueAfter = true; response.processFile = true; ffmpeg does this to the media to remap video first, as just a remux. -map 0:v? -map 0:a? -map 0:s? -map 0:d? -map 0:t? -c copy
xbmcgotham 35 Posted September 26, 2025 Author Posted September 26, 2025 Thanks for sharing, yes, its more for recoding. I will install tdarr and then run the code provide. I will get back to you this weekend. Have a nice weekend.
xbmcgotham 35 Posted September 26, 2025 Author Posted September 26, 2025 Hi @NeminemI might have been to optimistic, I just quickly installed the software, but its not an easy gui interface, I would need a few hours if lucky to figure out what is happening and what I need to do. Or can you provide me some step by step screenshots of how you do a video file so I can just follow you step by step? I assume I dont need to configure anything in Tdarr and all works out of the box. If not, please provide some steps for this as well. If this is to much work, maybe you or someone else can suggest another easier way to do the changes to the files you suggested? Maybe it can still be done through Handbrake?
Luke 42077 Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 Anyway the original issue should be resolved in the next update to the Emby macOS app - assuming your mac has hardware av1 support. If it doesn't then it would be normal for any device to see high cpu usage when trying to decode AV1 in software.

Remuxing in MKVToolNix is the obvious way to reorder the streams, but of course you end up with an MKV file instead of the current MP4. Paul
xbmcgotham 35 Posted September 29, 2025 Author Posted September 29, 2025 Hi @LukeThanks for getting back to me. I did a quick search and found that this particular mac does not have any av1 support. But still interesting to see that the videos play fine in VLC player and EMBY web interface. Thanks for fixing this issue! I assume this fix will also be pushed to the Android app, as they both have the same issue when playing the videos? Let me wait for the update and get back to you with an update then. Any estimate when this fix is ready for deployment? Thanks @pwhodges for the additional information, appreciated. 1

xbmcgotham 35 Posted October 3, 2025 Author Posted October 3, 2025 Ahh, that would make sense. I report back when the updates are ready. 1
