casminkey 19 Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 Been seeing this issue the past few months and can't seem to get a sense of why - some files play fine, others don't. When they don't it's usually a HEVC file but not all HEVC files have issues. When playing a movie or show from the beginning, it's fine. If I resume from the middle or try skipping ahead it just freezes. I tried to mitigate this by converting all my media but that's becoming an issue of it's own that I'm still working through. So I started a TV show. It started fine so I skipped ahead about 4 minutes and it never resumed. The dashboard shows I am playing it, but the time goes from 0:06 up to about 0:13, then goes back to 0:06 and keeps cycling from there. I've let it sit there for quite a while, 2-3 minutes at times and it never picks up. Any help is appreciated! These sometimes a report of playback error, not consistently reproducable on other installations. Maybe pixel format "yuv420p10le? @casminkeydoes one of the two above examples apply to your case?

So I am not seeing this any more but I don't know what has changed. I'm running 4.8.11 and looks like that was installed in March - so like 6 months ago. But just tried a few each of HEVC and HEVC HDR10 files, every one was fine seeking forward and backwards. 1
