stuarta 1 Posted October 9, 2025 Author Posted October 9, 2025 Unfortunately not, only the programs I watch in the web browser

stuarta 1 Posted October 9, 2025 Author Posted October 9, 2025 So when I watch something via the web page, the next episode appears under continuing watching on the web page and in DLNA on the TV. The episode also appears under next up and noticed I have another series showing under next up which I had been watching on the app. However when watching purely via the TV DLNA, that series doesn't appear. This screenshot shows what I've been watching via web page but my wife has been another series on the TV.
Luke 42077 Posted October 9, 2025 Posted October 9, 2025 Quote However when watching purely via the TV DLNA, that series doesn't appear. What do you see in the web app after doing this?
stuarta 1 Posted October 9, 2025 Author Posted October 9, 2025 Only shows the same 2 programs that I've watched on the web not the series my wife has watched on the TV
Luke 42077 Posted October 9, 2025 Posted October 9, 2025 Do you and your wife use the same user on your server, or separate ones?
stuarta 1 Posted October 9, 2025 Author Posted October 9, 2025 Same account but I wasn't sure if that would make a difference as programmes I watch online do show on the TV
Luke 42077 Posted October 9, 2025 Posted October 9, 2025 If you use the server's play to feature to cast it to the tv, then it should work, right?
Luke 42077 Posted October 9, 2025 Posted October 9, 2025 HI, yes, I mean use the cast icon in the top right of one of our apps to send it to the TV.
stuarta 1 Posted October 10, 2025 Author Posted October 10, 2025 (edited) Ok so just watched an episode via casting and when I went back into DLNA direct on the TV, it showed the next episode under next up only. It didn't automatically play the next episode so I guess this way I just continue using the app. It was an older series which was downloaded in a different format and doesn't play on DLNA but when casting it plays fine. Luke 42077 Posted October 10, 2025 Posted October 10, 2025 Right when you play direct from Dlna, there are multiple ways in which TV's report their position and the dlna server just hasn't added support for all of them yet. So that's why you see the resume position not being tracked.
stuarta 1 Posted October 10, 2025 Author Posted October 10, 2025 Ok thanks so effectively it isn't going to work unless I cast from my phone?

stuarta 1 Posted October 10, 2025 Author Posted October 10, 2025 No unfortunately nothing in the Viera store. Maybe time to upgrade to a TV with Google built in and I guess the Android app would then work?
