New PC, can't access Emby with my account.

Hey.

As I understand, Emby is self-hosted; therefore, I cannot simply log in like I do with other services, such as Plex, to access my account and my Premiere. I have the old files backed up, but I just don't know how to get hold of my old account.

Please help me!!!

Hi.  What files?

The only account you would have with us would be the one you are logged into right now to post on this forum.  Exactly what are you trying to access?

The files in "appdata" have all my account settings and profile.

Upon installing Emby, I tried to log in to Emby Connect with no luck; I could only log in to this forum. and only log in to a local-based Emby account.

I'm no expert, and you should excuse my ignorance, but what I'm essentially trying to do is just log in to my old Emby server account that had all my settings.

Hi.  That would be on your server.  Connect doesn't save anything.

Are you actually trying to re-connect to someone else's server?

Just a little clarification:

Emby Connect is essentially a DNS service. All it does is point your browser at your server. If you haven't setup a new server and re-configured Emby Connect to use it, it will do absolutely nothing for you.

For a new computer, with a whole new server installation; you will have to go through the setup process described in Server Installation, then re-link your Emby Connect account to the local user you've created on that new server.

If you took a backup of the old server installation (using the backup tool, not just copying app_data) you can restore that data with this guide:

Backup+Restore
