Subtitles on the Android client fails to display certain symbols like music symbol. See below example. They show fine on the web client.

Version 3.5.02. I noticed it previous versions.

Right the symbol is just not currently in the app's subtitle font, so that will have to be added. Thanks.

And when might that be? This default font 'bug' is really annoying.

This is beyond annoying and a basic subtitling prerequisite that should "just work".

A font issue that breaks immersion during the viewing experience is not a trivial concern. Can this PLEASE be fixed with the next update? Or a hotfix or something?

At a bare minimum (there may be others), these two Unicode characters need to display properly: ♪♫

Side note: I love the minor UI changes, additional features, and especially the collapsible sidebar menu of the new/standard Android app. It addresses one of my core issues with the old Android TV app that effectively forces you to have library tiles pinned to the home screen. But this sort of thing keeps me coming back to the old, reliable Android TV app. Sigh... one day I hope to be able to uninstall it.

Thanks for confirming. Google Play reports version 3.5.32 as the current version on my NVIDIA Shield. Should I sideload the apk or wait for the update to roll out?

I checked the release notes in the forum and both versions .32 and .34 are listed as being released on April 10. Is that an error? If not, I'm curious why .34 wouldn't have been rolled out by now.

Regardless, issue seems resolved. Awesome! Thanks dev team ❤️

I sideloaded because I have a lot of subtitles with the music symbol and didn't want to wait.  Sometimes it can take a while for Google to review an update.  The only issue with sideloading is that it sometimes breaks the auto update in the Google store and you will have to update again from the store to restart that.

Luke and ebr may have a better gauge on how long they think it may take for .34 to hit the store though.
