Vaughn 1 Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 Hello, I just set up Live tv using HDHOMERUN. I can get emby to stream live to my roku and iphone with emby apps. On a Windows 11 pc I have emby app installed it plays all regular content with no issues but whn I got to stream live tv the screen goes black and I hear a second of ausdio that repeats and then I get teh below Payback Error: No compatible streams are currently available. Please try asin later or contact your system administrator for details. I have tried turning off and on transcoding inthe live tv settings. No difference. Suggestions?
Luke 42077 Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
Vaughn 1 Posted September 8, 2025 Author Posted September 8, 2025 HI Thanks for the quick reply. See attached log Playback Error Log.txt

About 6 seconds. This might just be a black screen with repeating audio. Who knows.. but it will cause the Roku to consider the stream empty when it has no data after that 6 seconds. The playback recovery will attempt to keep going but the corruption in the stream data will cause the Roku to abandon retrying and throw that error. Does this stream play back on the HDHomeRun Roku app directly? Maybe the signal strength is too low at that time of day and causing glitching which would cause the corruption that ffmpeg is seeing? Vaughn 1 Posted September 8, 2025 Author Posted September 8, 2025 It does play it fine on Roku. No issues. It is when I play it on Windows 11 PC Emby app that this occurs
speechles 2055 Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 Ohh. My mistake.. lol. 12:01:21.457 Stream #0:0 -> #0:0 (copy) 12:01:21.457 Stream #0:1 -> #0:1 (copy) Both streams are copied. Nothing is being transcoded. 12:01:21.457 Stream #0:1[0x34](eng): Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), fltp, 384 kb/s, Start-Time 54606.014s (clean effects) 12:01:21.457 Stream #0:2[0x35](enm): Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 192 kb/s, Start-Time 54606.046s (visual impaired) I suspect the Roku might be playing the 2nd audio stream. The stereo one and not the 5.1. You can confirm if this is happening. If this is happening you should be able to play the stereo track with windows to prevent the problem. If the Roku is playing the 5.1 without issue can you provide an ffmpeg log from the Roku correctly handling playback? That way it is possible to compare the two and see what difference is going on between the two. Thanks.
Vaughn 1 Posted September 9, 2025 Author Posted September 9, 2025 Here is the log for the successful Roku stream (attaxhed).. Not it also streams live tv fine on my ipad app. I tried streaming live tv in chrom on the same coimputer. Same error and issue. So it specific to the windows 11 computer. OPn the Computer it plays streamed content fine , but not live tv. Thanks for the help/ Playback Roku success.txt
Vaughn 1 Posted September 9, 2025 Author Posted September 9, 2025 One other thing I tried. Recorded Live TV plays fine on the computer EMBY app. Its just not working with live streaming the Live TV
Vaughn 1 Posted September 9, 2025 Author Posted September 9, 2025 Well I have a workaround. I can get the live stream to work on the HHDhomerun app on the pc with no issues. I was (and still am) hopping to use EMBY as the one app to rule my streaming world. But since Emby Live TV is working on all devices but the pc and I can watch live tv another way on the pc, I can live with it. However if a smart person knows the fix, I would greatly appreciate it.
Vaughn 1 Posted September 26, 2025 Author Posted September 26, 2025 Thanks that was my issue. It did resolve after the Emby update of the Windows app. But you are also right at the same time. I had all transcoding turned off.. I believe this issue is now solved 1
