4k Transcoding

Emby transcodes automatically even my media player supports the direct play. In Tv also set it passthrough. Is there a way to deactivate transcoding only for 4k videos? and there is no option like direct play.

For specific content no.  You can disable transcoding for all content, but media will fail if conversion is required.  It is a per user setting.

 

We would need to see the transcode logs to know why your media is transcoding as it will tell you and Stats for Nerds will also during playback.

I would check all of those options and leave them at default. Once you've done that, if you think something is transcoding that should be direct playing, then let's look at an example:
