So I've added an m3u and told it the content will be movies (only adding movies at the moment). Everything imports into the library. So far so good. 

Im having issues with filtering (probably due to my old brain).

In my m3u I have about 30 live tv groups, then under vod movies and vod tv shows another 30 each, plus ppv groups

So i have 2 options. Filter to include - would be 20+ conditions (I would miss out on any new groups created later in the m3u)

Filtering to exclude - would be over 100

It seems a lot of work, and nobody else is mentioning it, so I'm thinking I'm going the wrong way about it

I would appreciate some help please

OK, so I've figured out how to filter a bit out. Looks like my movies/tv show groups start with VOD. Found some starting with SRS..not sure what they are yet

Metadata settings per WebStreams source are not implemented yet. But when you have non-English content, it is highly important that you set the langauge for the metadata to retrieve.

For example, when you use media sources from German public TV (like from the Streamfeeds site, you get metadata for much more content when setting the metadata language tio English German.

• Click "Edit Metadata"
• Find "Metadata Language", select the language and hit OK
• Right-click the item again and choose "Refresh Metadata"
• Check "Replace all images" and let it run

Normally if you change library options then that's what's required, so similar idea here.

The images won't change if you change the metadata language...? Why would one want to redownload the same images again?

I reidentified that show to Pur+, ending up with an empty Pur+ folder, all episodes are still in "The Purge" folder. 
I guess this is just not fully implemented yet?

You need to click on the "And" and change it to an "Or"

For these reasons:

• When changing the metadata language, you can get more identifications than before
  Enabling "Replace images" will replace existing images from the M3U - which are often low quality
• Images are different per language (as @ebrhad explained already)

Unfortunately, you'll have to remove the identification for the episodes as well.

To be a little more specific, I meant to have the files downloaded on the actual hard drive so they can be made available to all clients "offline".  I think what you are referring to is having the files saved on the individual client not the server.

I'm not sure whether that changes anything and whether it will be able to parse the series name properly (because there's no series name field in your m3u), but it might be worth giving it a try.

Was this ever fixed?  I'm having the same c:\x\Series\ in the title.  Couple other questions:
1.  Is there a way to change what the M3U source is named without deleting it and starting over?
2.  When I go into the edit filter I previously created, is there a way to change content type and custom field mapping without deleting it and starting over?
3.  I have used the same M3U source link filtered to create a Web Streams Series folder and a Web Streams Movies folder both get put inside a folder called Web Streams.  I would prefer each were directly under the home screen so when I click on them they will have the sort categories above them (i.e. collections, genres, favorites, etc.).  Is there a way to do that?
4.  Is there a way to log in locally but have ALL traffic going out to the internet to e.g. grab metadata be sent through a vpn?  Is there a vpn plugin for proton for example?

 

Deleting and restarting would be painful because the metadata setup has taken 2 days.

Also deleted the series folder and have been testing a small local .m3u file with various settings but still getting c:\x\Series\ at start of title and no metadata.  My .m3u list is structured as follows:

The Movies, .m3u structured the same way, worked great. Thanks for the previous post on filtering.  Also thanks for this very cool plugin.

Why can't I edit the menu sections after adding and saving the data?

I use kinopoisk to add metadata, and if I add a playlist via m3u, then the names of the actors are in English. And if I add it via strm, then all the actors are in Russian.

You're right, there's no menu item for this. 

You'd have to choose "Edit Metadata" and clear the External IDs:

 

Eventually, we'll need to make this easier by automatically clearing the child items' identifications when you clear it for a series.

Yes, in the main, right-click the folder and choose "Edit Metadata".

I'm afraid, no. This is not allowed because it wouldn't give you the results you want. It would ceate chaos.

Yes, there's an option to show it at the root level.
