Jack Burton 98 Posted September 6, 2025 Posted September 6, 2025 I want to ask if you had to split tunnel and exclude emby server either as a service, app, or ip to remote connect with the VPN active? The reason I'm asking is I've recently moved to Linux. I can get remote access (set up ssl and all that) without the VPN active, but can't when it's on. When I had my server on Windows I was able to get remote access with ProtonVPN active and I can't remember if it's because of an exclusion rule. I've been pulling my hair out getting it to work with Linux (it's not firewall related) and narrowed it down to split tunneling. ProtonVPN isn't as complete on Linux as it is on Windows so I'm wondering if this is the issue. Linux ProtonVPN just released split tunneling, but it's limited to only exclude apps right now, and since Emby server is a service, it's not an option on the app exclude list. If anyone can tell me they have remote access working with ProtonVPN on and had to set it up with split tunneling, I'll know that this is my issue and just have to wait for a Proton Linux update.
Luke 42077 Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 Hi, from a quick search it seems @Q-Droid, @roberthleeii and @metsukehave tried it out.
