QNAP TS-233-US Diskless System Network Storage Current firmware version: QTS 5.2.5.3145

Have just installed EBMY all media is in same directory and the sub directories are audio books, cds,  photos.  All  mp3 files play fine and mp4 files within the photos directory play.  But in any sub directory of photos that does not have a mp4 file Emby finds 0 items.  There is no emby user but dashboard lists my sign on user as the emby user who has RW permission on these directories.  Would not appear to be permission problem as unique to jpg files.

From within Emby i displayed and external jpg file with no problem (navigated in windows to photos directory with which i am having a problem)

Other means of accessing the photos work fine QuMagie. DLNA

I have setup as per info I have found (photos enabled)

Have attched log file problem should show between 9am and 10am  EST

I have spent several days on this and gotten no place would appreciate any path forward.

This is a file listing of the directory that was copied to the NAS and became the photo directory we are talking about.  Have not touched a linux command line in 35yrs so
if need on qts side please ask and i will figure it out.

Additional information (all from my phone). Plex Photos can view this directory no problem as can QuMagie from android as well as android VLC via DLNA.

You have a library with library path (/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Multimedia) that encompasses all other libraries:

Nested folders as library paths are not (nor they ever were) supported, you need to reconfigure/rearrange your folders/library paths, in particular if libraries are of different content type.

Using FileStation5  I attempted to move from  Multimedia to Public but it REMOVED it from Multimedia and it did not appear in Public.

I reloaded my backup folder from PC to public directory and it now works.   Something else must have been wrong as now have a Heading Bar Videos Photos Tags Folders which I never had before.  Appears was corrected by process of reloading.

Question why would if find all the other media types under the same directory structure but have problems with only Photos?

Question 2 I did not create a user when i setup so my user for emby is my own user which has all the required permissions on all the folders, should I be worried
about not setting up an emby user or just assume it will continue to work.

Will close off problem with answer to questions if you don't mind.

Hi, as it's not supported, you probably just got lucky with some, but not with others.

Hi, you are not required to have more than one user on your server. Does that help answer your question?

Consider problem resolved.  Would have closed post but have not figured out how.
